The Best One Yet: Cabin Fever Toastie Battle #8

The Cabin Fever Toastie Battle – now in its eighth year – is one of my favourite annual events. I’ve attended most of them, and I can report that this year’s battle was the best yet. All five competitors were worthy entrants, showing creativity well beyond cheese.

This year’s event was held at Shelter Brewing Co,, moved inside and upstairs to a function room at the last minute due to the weather. Everything ran smoothly – the toasties were hot and melty, the crowd well fed and the MCs as crazy as usual. Even the traditional winner’s shoey couldn’t be stopped by the wet weather outside.

Congratulations to all the competitors and the (very well deserved) winner. See a gallery of my pics from the event below – bring on 2026!
