Morsels & The Shelf Life

Review: Mr Kipling Raspberry & Creme Shortcake Whirls

Ah, Mr Kipling. I’m very fond of their products, and it’s great that you can usually find at least some of the range half price ($3) in one of the majors. These Raspberry & Creme Shortcake Whirls are a fairly new addition locally, we don’t normally see much until the approach of Christmas (why are there no Battenburgs any more ?).

These are very much what we would call a melting moment, and this version is a simple biscuit that doesn’t go crazy on the filling. Scrumptious indeed, as it says on the box.

The best – dare I say amazing – thing about these is that they don’t crumble into a thousand pieces when you bite them. I don’t know what wizardry (or chemicals) are in use here, but the fear of being covered in half a Bakewell Tart or Melting Moment (notoriously messy) can be overcome with these.

Delicious and easy to eat. Give these a try, even if you have to pay $6 (which is the cost of one biscuit in a cafe, after all).

Available from Coles, Woolworths and wherever you buy Mr Kipling cakes.
