Morsels & The Shelf Life

Review: KFC Zinger Nachos

Today’s reality check is courtesy of KFC’s new Zinger Nachos. It sounds like an attractive proposition, with guacamole, salsa, cheese sauce, supercharged sauce, tortilla chips and zinger fillet pieces.

As you can see, it’s a bit of a mess but I expected that. There was a good amount of chicken and I had to hunt for the chips. More cheese sauce would have been welcome.

Like so many of these things it felt assembled from a distance, almost intentionally. On the whole it works – and is certainly tasty – but you might feel exposed if eating in public.

So I ordered this in for lunch. The standard price was $11.95, but I chose the $21.95 “jumbo” option to get free delivery (and more friends, if you believe the app). There was a good amount of chicken, but I find it hard to believe this was the jumbo size so will assume it’s the regular. I sure hope so.

If you’re a Zinger fan it’s definitely worth trying, just make sure you get what you paid for. There’s also a matching Twister which might be more satisfying (and less visually distressing).
