Dinner Review: Wards Central Dining

Wards Central Dining in Shenton Park is a great spot for brunch (I strongly recommend the omelette) but did you know they also serve dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4pm?

The menu is small (see gallery below) but there should be something for most diners. Being part of the North Street / Big Loaf empire, you’ll also find a selection of bread, pastries, sandwiches and cakes. The venue is licensed with wine, beer and cocktails are available.

I tried the chicken with cheesy polenta, roasted tomato & pesto, and was impressed with how moist the chicken was, not to mention the generous quantity. The polenta was indeed soft and cheesy, not the usual underseasoned disappointment found around Perth.

The pasta and side of garlic greens were flavoursome, well cooked and a great vegetarian option. Alas we had no room for dessert after the generous dishes. Oh, and the crockery is delightfully Instagrammable ? Table service was being trialled when we were there, and noticed no issues.

Value for money and quality is the key at Wards Central Dining, it reminds me of Special Delivery in the simplicity of its offering; you can be sure the food will be better and cheaper than many other venues. Recommended.
