It’s a hard question to answer, but when pushed I usually declare my favourite cuisine is Indian. It’s pleasing that we have such a good number of quality restaurants in Perth these days. I was recently invited to visit 2 Fat Indians in the DoubleTree by Hilton Northbridge. Located on the first floor of the hotel, it’s a sophisticated dining room with a simple but comfortable fit out.
I was impressed by the extensive menu which is bigger than most, including the other 2FI restaurants – there are five goat curries and eight desserts, for example. The al a carte menu is joined by a range of platters and banquets so there are plenty of ways to dine. There’s a strong focus on northern dishes, but a big variety overall to choose from.
Dishes pictured below:
- Spiced popcorn chicken (surprisingly light and a great entree)
- Onion bhaji
- Baby corn varuval (batter fried)
- Tandoori lamb chops
- Old Delhi murg makhani
- Dal e-khass
The drinks menu includes a range of Indian inspired cocktails, including two with fairy floss!
We had a most enjoyable meal at 2 Fat Indians, and if you’re a fan of Indian cuisine it’s definitely worth adding to your to-do list for either a special occasion or last-minute meal. 2 Fat Indians also has restaurants in Highgate, Carousel and Joondalup.
