Finally made it to Funk Cider 2.0 in Henley Brook for lunch and was really impressed with the food (not to mention the cider paddle, of course 🤪). This dish is a spatchcock chicken with apple slaw, cornbread and a cider jus. Moist, tasty and would definitely eat again 😍 @funkcider

Tried breakfast at new Dianella cafe Nogi Lane over the weekend and was very impressed with the food. Definitely worth a visit!

If you've got a sweet tooth, this banana pancake with macadamia crumble, butterscotch (with a jug of sauce on the side) and vanilla ice cream cone will hit the spot nicely. Also suitable for breakfast dessert 😉 @nogilane

Tried Domino's new "Sausage Sizzle" pizza (bbq beef sausage, grilled onion, mozzarella, bbq base, topped with tomato sauce & mustard).

This piece has twice as much sausage as all the other pieces. Maybe they're making a comment that people always add too much sauce.

If you're a lover of English Marmite (and no, not the horrible Australian one) then this is a truly magnificent creation. The chilli doesn't affect the characteristic flavour or texture, it's just a perfect heat that I can't get enough of 🤤 @marmite
.
And before you ask, I imported this myself and I'm not telling you how much it cost me. But it's only being made for six months and I'm sure it won't be my only jar 😭😭

What do you need with odd flavoured crackers? Weird dips of course! The nature of these is given away in the name "What the Dip?!" And they're certainly unusual @blackswanfoods

I wasn't a fan of the cheeseburger. As seems to mostly be the case there's a vague sense of meat and cheese and an overriding pickle flavour. I'm not a big pickle person at the best of times.
.
The pulled pork reminded me of the Kraft onion and bacon dip from my childhood, which I didn't like but there never seemed to be another option (apart from the equally dubious French Onion, of course). Good for meaty nostalgia.
.
I always assumed Black Swan were from WA but it says they are from South Melbourne. Not sure how I feel about that 😬 
.
It's nice to see some good attempts at flavouring and these are definitely worth a try if you're curious.

This week from the inventive folks at Darrell Lea we've got some mini dark chocolate peppermint Easter eggs! Not sure why it's party time, but anyway...
.
They're individually wrapped, and deliver precisely what is promised. The dark chocolate is of good quality and the peppermint flavour comes from candy shards, like a Peppermint Crisp. The kids probably won't like them 😜 Great job @darrelllea 😍
.
What's next, hot cross bun flavour?? 🤔

Flavoured popcorn seems to be a snack of the moment with varieties sweet, savoury and everything in-between popping up. Here's a version based on a brand we all know.

Described as "the iconic combination of Gaytime vanilla biscuit crumbs and toffee" in popcorn form, these are like Lolly Gobble Bliss Bombs but not quite as sweet.
.
The smell and taste was definitely reminiscent of the ice cream, although I found myself getting bored as I worked my way down the bag. More crumbs might have helped. Didn't stop me finishing them, though 😋
.
Definitely worth trying, but I won't be rushing back. Might try the chocolate version if I find them (although I'm not quite sure what the difference is). Currently exclusive to @colessupermarkets

I've had these new Shapes for a while and finally got around to taste-testing today. I think we all know by now that limited-edition campaigns exist mainly to draw attention to the original brand, and it seems to be the case here.
.
Sizzling steak & onion - like barbecue shapes with a different, lingering aftertaste that I didn't like. Odd.
.
Double cheeseburger - just add pickle flavouring to anything and call it a cheeseburger. Not sure what makes it a double 🤔🍔
.
Triple cheese toastie - had high hopes for this but it tasted surprisingly mild. Would have preferred something much more cheesy. 🧀
.
Not bad, and definitely worth trying if you're curious.

Picked up these ALDI "Vietnamese style" spring rolls for a lunch-ish snack, and cooked them in the air fryer because that's what we do now (and ALDI are kind enough to give you air fryer instructions).
.
They certainly looked the part and were nicely crunchy but the filling was more like a soft, mild, Asian-herby sausage roll.
.
Not what I was expecting, but by no means unpleasant. Dunk them in some serious chilli and you'll never know the difference. 
.
I can't remember the exact cost - I think it was $3 something - and like many things ALDI it's hard to complain at the price @aldiaustralia

Public Service Announcement: approach with extreme caution ☣️😨 Whoever thought peanut butter and coffee in milk would be a good idea was clearly deranged, but not as much as whoever gave this the green light to enter production. 
.
It's just horrible, and nothing like any peanut butter I've tasted. One mouthful was more than enough, and apart from slightly salty I'm hard pressed to describe it politely 🤢 Smells like marzipan mixed with milk that's slightly off.

I've been waiting for bottled curry sauce for years. I used to smuggle the HP one back when visiting the UK but they don't make it any more. There's a Heinz one but it just isn't the same.

Spotted these curious new kombucha jellies from @thenaturalconfeccompany on special in Woolies for $2 so thought I'd give them a shot.
.
I don't particularly like or dislike Kombucha (definitely prefer it to switchel 🤢) but I think the easiest way to describe these is that I would never have picked it as the underlying flavour. They're a little sour but certainly not unpleasant. There's no great distinction between the three different jellies.
.
I'm guessing there's more here for kombucha fans. Worth a try if it's something you enjoy. Fingers crossed I'm going to benefit from the prebiotic fibre 😋

What does "Beach BBQ" conjure up in terms of flavour? Sausage and sand? Seagull and stolen chip? I'm not sure, but I really didn't like this weird BBQ-ish creation. They couldn't even be bothered making up a description, which says a lot.

The Chipotle Salsa is a much better effort, they're rather spicy and actually taste of Chipotle. Surprising. "Salsa" seems superfluous, but I'll let them off this time 👍

This week out of the seemingly unstoppable Darrell Lea R&D department we've got chewy nougat balls in two flavours very dear to me @darrelllea

The clear winner here is the orange, in a well matched flavour combo with the dark choc. Very enjoyable.
.
The coffee flavour was just way too strong in the milk choc ones. I'm sure I'll finish the bag but (probably) won't be going back for another 😋

Hot on the heels of the return of the McRib and El Maco, Macca's have released two new burgers with cooked onions as a feature - the Crispy BBQ McOz and the Aussie Angus. Perhaps more excitingly, onion rings are available on their own (but not as a side in place of fries).

I decided to try the McOz, which has the novelty factor of beetroot and fried onions. Unfortunately I found the whole thing dry and the onions so small they had no real impact. I don't really understand BBQ sauce with salad, either.
.
I was pleased that the onion rings were made of "real" onion but they were too greasy. Shame. They're not cheap at $3.10 for 6, either. The Aussie Angus contains onion rings so that might be a rather greasy experience.

Why does citrus (mostly orange) flavoured yogurt now only come in limited editions and then by the bucket? I want the mandarin Yoplait of my childhood back 😭

This is actually pretty good, although quite intense owing to the quality of the yogurt and strength of the syrup running through it. I shouldn't complain though or they'll take it away 😳😭 if you like citrus, give this a go 👍 Found in IGA.

I was hopeful this was going to great before I tried it, and I wasn't disappointed.  It's a mix of salted caramel & chocolate ice cream, roasted peanuts, salted caramel sauce and chocolate curls.
