The Partisan Restaurant & Bar, located in picturesque Claisebrook Cove, is celebrating five years in East Perth with a new seafood-focused summer menu. It’s the latest stage of continuous improvement for this premiere dining spot.
Owner Mike Nguyen took over The Partisan in 2019, recognising the attractiveness of the location and turning what was a tired venue into his dream restaurant, renovating the kitchen and furniture, and overhauling the menu and kitchen team.

“Weโre lucky to be one of the best restaurants by the river,โ says Mike, who also owns renowned Northbridge Vietnamese eatery Sup So Good. โWe try to maintain our food quality and service level to match the stunning views. We always try to make our customers happy with good food, value for money and generous portions.”
The last five years has seen many changes to the restaurant and its offerings, including daily Happy-Hour specials and a range of cocktails to appeal to both new and regular customers. While the stunning river view may have initially formed The Partisanโs reputation, the dinerโs response to its food shows the restaurant continues to grow in the right direction.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days, The Partisanโs food uses the finest local produce to offer a menu of Modern Australian cuisine with an Asian twist. The new summer menu features fresh ingredients with a strong focus on local seafood. Dishes such as the jumbo tiger prawns and market fish crudo take centre stage.
“We try to offer a balance of Western and Asian food to appeal to all of our customers. The location brings a lot of touristsโ, says Mike. โOur most popular dishes are the prawn & crab linguine, American pork ribs, and our special โSizzling Hot Plateโ steak.”

The Partisanโs kitchen and front-of-house teams have been carefully selected and trained to ensure a good relationship between the two and always offer a high level of service.

โSome customers have their favourite staff that they come back to see for a chat. In our restaurant we work together as a team but itโs like a family at heart,โ says Mike.
“The Partisan is my dream, my first child. I’m so happy to see weโre running it right, and still growing after five years of hard work.โ
