- Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has released a cookbook, and is getting an absolute pasting from the likes of Eater National. The New York Post reports that Martha Stewart attended a star-studded dinner to celebrate the book’s launch but abandoned ship before any food was served.
- Desperate Housewives starย Eva Longoria has also released a cookbook, but isn’t getting anywhere as much grief from the media as Gwyneth.

- Normally this would get its own post, but I’ve only just covered the Mega Tamago – behold Burger King Japan’s Meat Monster Whopper. That’s two beef burgers, chicken, bacon and whatever else they felt like cramming into it.
- Jamie Oliver appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman to talk about how vanilla ice cream contains an additive made from beaver anal glands. Put your dessert down, and check out the video here (Eater National).
- Josh Ozersky from Time talks aboutย why Top Chef Masters is so depressing. I blame Curtis Stone entirely; he’s completely wooden, and he’s also my least favourite thing about America’s Next Great Restaurant (well apart from the fact they dumped the Grilled Cheese Guy).
- …and speaking of America’s Next Great Restaurant, it seems a little odd that judge and investor Steve Ellis has launched his “ShopHouse South East Asian Kitchen” concept in the middle of the series. No wonder the stir fry lady didn’t make it…
- Eater National quite rightly stuck the boot into Curtis, much like I did some months ago…
- I love Bob’s Burgers – always some good laughs without the tired craziness of Family Guy. This week Bob sets out to make the Meatsiah, which consists of beef tartare inside a burger medium well inside a burger Wellington. Check out some clips here.
- I was going to put together a post making fun of this year’s Next Food Network Star contestants, but Food Network Humor beat me to it. See what other new shows the Food Network has in store for us here. Duff on a motorcycle? Geez.
- bacon, bacon, pork, bacon.
