There’s not been a lot happening locally this month, apart from the dreary McMate of course. FoodBeast reportedย that Macca’s has teamed with Menulog to offer “McDelivery” in parts of New South Wales, Queensland and Victoriaย – if you’ve tried this, leave a comment to let me know how it went.
The rest of the world has been veryย busy (and much more creative than 15,859 Australians) when it comes to limited-time burgers…
Startingย close to home, Burger Business reports that Burger King New Zealand has introduced the Breakfast Whopper, topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato and egg. Even better, this Whopper is available all day. I’d certainly give that one a go.
The Burger King New Zealand menu has some ratherย interesting things on it, including some awesome looking Super Shakes and this Chicken Nugget Burger!
Same font,ย different shape chicken. These fry-shaped chicken sticks covered with seasoned crispy breadingย are available for a limited time from Burger King USAย (via Brand Eating). Ooh, they also have an awesome lookingย Oreo shake…
McDonald’s Singaporeย recently introduced a night-time only “Twilight” menu. ย The obvious standout here is the Grand Twilight Burger,ย a quarter-pound beef patty with steak sauce, caramelised onions, mustard relish, two slices of American cheese and an egg.
The slightly less odd Classic Twilight Burger features a quarter-pound beef patty with turkey bacon, nacho cheese sauce, a slice of American cheese, onions, tomatoes and lettuce (via Brand Eating)
Also fromย McDonald’s Singapore we have these burgers which are right up my street. Is there anything that isn’t made better by covering itย inย satay sauce? (via Brand Eating)
I think I’ll pass on this new breakfast item, also from McDonald’s Singapore. Yes, thoseย hotcakes are topped with ham, cheese, hot fudge and strawberry syrupย (via Brand Eating)
Heading over to the other side of the world and we have the rather odd-looking McPrego from McDonald’s Portugalย – it’s a steak sandwich with mushrooms or an egg. Hmm. (via Burger Business)
The new “Mushroom & Swiss Big King” from Burger King USA looks a bit rough… (via Brand Eating)
If you happen to be in Sweden but caught short without your wallet, you can now trade empty cans for Macca’s. 10 cans will get you a cheeseburger and 40 a Big Mac, which sounds like a lot of effort for a free burger (via The Inspiration)
Now this chicken burger from Wendy’s USA looks interesting…not something we’ll ever see here, though.
Over to the land of pizza, and Pizza Hut USA has introduced a bacon & cheeseย stuffed crust, which sounds simply awesome (via FoodBeast)
In the dessert department, McDonald’s China has the Black & White Pie, which features a deep-fried chocolate flavoured shell with a coconut fillingย (via Brand Eating)
It wouldn’t be a fast food roundup without some weird Oreos, and this time it’s caramel-apple. These don’t sound so weird, actually (via Brand Eating)
Speaking of Oreos, the mad “frosting scientists” at the Onionโs A.V. Club have conducted some wild filling-multiplying experiments – see here (via Consumerist)
Tim Hortons, a Canadian restaurant chain soon to merge with Burger King, has brought the “Buffalo Crunch” doughnut to ย theย New York State Fair. The doughnut isย dunked in mild or hot Buffalo sauce and sprinkled with crushed chips, with corn-chip strips for decoration – andย ranch dressing on the side, of course.
…and finally, if you’re sick of getting your fingers dirty when eating your favourite fast food, you can buy some ofย theseย “finger condoms”, made by someone in South Korea with too much time on their hands. I’m not sure how theseย would go down on Dragons’ Den. (via FoodBeast)
