There’s been a lot happening in the world of fast food, and it’s time for another news roundup! The only thing of interest in Australia at the moment is the rather nice KFC Hot Rods, and I’ve already reviewed them…
This made news just about everywhere when it was announced – Domino’s USA is now serving chicken with pizza toppings on top of it. I don’t understand what the fuss is all about…after all, it’s just a parmy. I do like the sound of the Spicy Jalapeno Pineapple.
Now we’re talking! McDonald’s Romania brings us deep fried cheese and pork meatballs – even the McRib thing sounds awesome with horeseradish mustard instead of barbecue sauce. I’m not sure about the deep fried cheese in the dessert but the rest sounds great. I’d better get my plane ticket organised, it looks like these are only available until the end of May. WOULD YOU LIKE AVOCADO WITH THAT? Just a little, thanks. McDonald’s Japan brings us large quantities of avocado in three forms: The Avocado Beef with bacon, onions, a slice of cheddar, and a wasabi sauce; the Avocado Chicken with a slice of cheddar and a spicy, creamy sauce seasoned with chili peppers, coriander, and black pepper; and the Avocado Shrimp with a crispy-fried shrimp patty, and the same sauce as the Avocado Chicken (via Brand Eating)
For dessert at Macca’s Japan we have the McChurro, which isn’t really a Churro but is actually a rude looking Chinese fried breadstick. That bag simply isn’t long enough. (via Brand Eating)
The Chicken Big Mac isn’t a common item, but KFC Canada has done its own version and now Burger King in the USA is introducing its Chicken Big King. This looks really odd to me…that middle layer…hmm…maybe it’s just me. Does anyone else find it…uncomfortable? (via Burger Business)
Over to KFC in the UK and we have the BLT Quad Wrap, which is a toasted square quesadilla with two fried chicken patties, cheese, club sauce, bacon, lettuce and tomato. They describe it as their “most portable meal yet”. Boring. (via FoodBeast)
KFC France has two slightly crazy-looking items, the “Salad Twist”. with two grilled chicken strips, a mixed green salad with strips of beetroot, sheep milk cheese, red capsicum, and tomato with a sauce of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and basil wrapped in a flour tortilla. The “Brazer Sol” is a ciabatta sandwich with grilled chicken, grilled red and yellow capsicum, parmesan cheese, lettuce and tomato sauce. (via BrandEating)
This new burger from KFC India looks like it’s ready to burst… (via BrandEating)

There’s not much happening in the world of Pizza, just this rather uninspired effort from Pizza Hut Singapore to promote the new X-Men movie. That’s nacho cheese arranged in a trademarked fashion (via Brand Eating).
Time for something sweet, and I was intrigued to hear of the new milkshake flavours from US chain Sonic – Chocolate Covered Jalapeno, Oreo Peanut Butter and Salted Caramel. If you fancy a laugh, check out this review of the Chocolate Covered Jalapeno – it gets a rating of 0/10, and even the pictures are disturbing (via FoodBeast)
…and to end on a slightly bizarre note, we have creepy sausage people. From Japan, of course. (via That’s Nerdalicious)
