There’s not much happening in Australia at the moment, McDonald’s peculiarly named “That’s Amore” campaign seems to be about it. The promo offers quite good value, but let’s be honest, this is really just Macca’s selling us even bigger meals. ย If it’s any consolation, the drive-through signs are very confusing so you’ll probably just panic and get your usual order. If you do work out how to order an Amore meal, you can win a car a day throughout February.
Over to Taiwan for a whole lot of pork from Burger King – the Super Deluxe BBQ Bacon Whopper withย ham, sausage and bacon. Go on then, if you insist. (via FoodBeast)
Continuing the Burger King theme inย Vietnamย we have special promotions for Chinese New Year. There’s the Spicy Kimchi Double Pork and Spicy Szechuan Double Beef which are pretty self explanatory. On the dessert side we have the “Lucky Pineapple Pie” (not so lucky when it melts the roof of your mouth) and the rather delicious sounding Caramel Kit Kat Sundae. (viaย Brand Eating)
Also at Burger King, but inย Japanย this time and we have the NY Whopper and BK Ringo, both of which feature apple in place of tomato. The BK Ringo features cinnamon infused mayo while the NY Whopper adds bacon and swaps the mayo for hollandaise. I could handle the apple but the sauces sound revolting. (via FoodBeast)
Japan must be liking the sweet stuff at the moment – fast food chain Lotteria is offering a Chocolate and Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken burger, with a grilled chicken thigh patty, milk chocolate sauce and spicy French and grain mustard with honey. The translation of the press release for this burger says that their slogan is “Lotteria a little bit different” ย (via FoodBeast)
McDonald’s China brings back the Sausage Double Beef. Check out the crazy videos on the website, and more specifically here. (via BurgerBusiness)
It’s a cheese extravaganza from McDonald’s Switzerland, including the akward-to-pronounce-but-wth-cute-rolls-of-cheese McSbrinz. (via BurgerBusiness)
This week’s odd Oreo flavour? Marshmallow crispy. The cream is marshmallow flavoured with granules of mixed rice in it. There’s also cookie dough flavour, which sounds much more appetising (via Brand Eating)
Continue the Chinese New Year celebrations and “savour the auspicious cheese sensation” from Pizza Hut Hong Kong. This 7 cheese monstrosity includes mozzarella, parmesan, provolone, monterey jack, romano, cheddar andย balls of cream cheese.ย It’s available in two varieties, pineapple & pastrami pork and crayfish & scallop. (via Brand Eating)
….and lastly, don’t forget that it’s Valentine’s Day this week. If you’re not sure where to take your loved one, how about McDonald’s? If you live in North Carolina, you’re in luck – enjoy the “musical selections by Ron”. (Reddit via Consumerist)
