Cheeky and outspoken celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge has joined a host of WA talent to complete the line-up for the 2016 Variety of Chefs event Friday, 29 July in the Grand Ballroom, Crown Perth.
Colin will team up with well-known Perth chefs Pete Manifis, Stephen Clarke (Clarkes of North Beach), Sean Marco (Executive Chef Crown Towers & Conventions) and Hadleigh Troy (Restaurant Amusé) to help raise funds for Variety – the Children’s Charity.
Colin, who counts pork, potato, lemon and peas among his favourite ingredients to cook with, says he was drawn to cooking as a career at the age of 12 after seeing esteemed French chef Raymond Blanc on a television program. After a successful career working under Raymond Blanc in London, leading him to own one of Sydney’s top restaurants 4Fourteen, Colin is now a popular judge on Channel 7’s My Kitchen Rules.
Known for his nose to tail cooking philosophy, the Irishman firmly believes the secret to cooking a great dish is planning and “having a bit of love for the food”.
The Variety of Chefs is an annual sell out event that brings chefs to the stage to share their culinary secrets and immerse diners in the ultimate fine dining experience with a captivating degustation.
Guests will enjoy pre-dinner drinks, oysters from the ‘Oyster King’ Jerry Fraser and will be hosted by the fabulous Lachy Reid and Pip O’Connell. There will also be fine wine, show stopping entertainment by Perth’s party band Proof, an exciting fundraising auction and more.
Funds raised from the night will help Variety provide practical equipment and experiences for Western Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, empowering them to live, laugh
and learn.
Tables of ten start at $2,750. Table sponsorship packages are also available. For more information or to secure your table, visit www.varietyofchefs.com.au
