The exhibition space at this year’s fourth annual City Wine at the Urban Orchard in the Perth Cultural Centre will be opened up to provide a more sociable space for friends to share new and unusual boutique wines with tapas style food. A Garden Courtyard and the Skyline Terrace will provide a relaxed space to allow friends to taste and enjoy wines and share a casual meal while overlooking the Perth skyline.

This year’s expo will have 35 premium exhibitors and as well as new releases and unusual wines, visitors will be able to try cocktails, craft beers, ciders and spirits. The event will open its doors at 4pm on Friday and 2pm on Saturday, running until 9pm on both days.

Entry includes a souvenir glass, wine tasting, live music with tapas styled meals available to purchase, sales by the glass and take home wine sales. New to the event this year will be Lucky Chan’s Bao Bar with its Chinese, steamed, filled buns.

Visitors will be able to sample wines and buy a glass of wine to enjoy while listening to live music or buy bottles to take away which can be stored in the complimentary “wine locker” until patrons are ready to leave.

Friday evening is always popular with city workers and city dwellers who walk across to the Cultural Centre after work to take a relaxing look at some wines they might not have tried before. Saturday is more of an occasion for a leisurely browse, discovering and buying wines that are perfect for the cooler time of year.

There is extensive cover for both patrons and exhibitors in case of inclement weather which means the event will go ahead come rain, hail or shine.

Admission is $28 through the website or $33 at the gate. Tickets can be purchased here.
