Cabin Fever Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Biggest Program Yet

Winter is rapidly approaching, which means its nearly time for my favourite annual festival, Cabin Fever! This year marks 10 years of the best excuse to head to the South West, and the festival returns with its biggest program yet.

From 17–26 July, the festival will once again transform the Margaret River region into a vibrant playground of food, wine, music and immersive experiences, featuring more than 40 events across 10 days.

Returning favourites include:

Cabin Fever’s Cheese Toastie Battle

The greatest battle to storm the South West is back. Who will win? That is up to you: the people! Sample five toasties at Strange Brew Wine Bar as you bear witness to this historic event. I’ve attended most of these, and it gets better every year. Can’t wait.

Blazing Brews

Celebrate winter fireside at Beerfarm’s famous roaring bonfire while enjoying a menu of delicious smokey eats, fresh beers and local wine.

Hair Of The Truffle Dog

For all the truffle lovers, the Cabin Fever truffle hunt is back, so pull on your boots and start the day with bubbles in hand and the sun coming up over Margaret River Truffle Farm. Follow the farm’s clever hunting dogs as they sniff out prized truffles, while you learn the ins and outs of the hunt, how to spot the good stuff and what makes each find so special. Back by the fire, settle in for a truffle-laden breakfast spread paired with wines from Skigh Wines.

This year’s new experiences include:

De’cadent – de’sendent x Hearth

For two nights only during Cabin Fever, de’sendent’s Evan Hayter will share the pass with Hearth’s Brian Cole for a special edition of the restaurant’s signature dinner service.Β The pair will collaborate on a seasonal, produce-led menu built around the best local ingredients with thoughtful beverage pairings.

Distiller’s Table: The Grove Distillery x Cassia Fremantle

The Grove and Cassia Fremantle get together for a fireside feast for lovers of bold flavours and handcrafted spirits. Discover the story behind each whisky, with a guided tasting by head distiller Shannon Grigg. Along the way, enjoy a vibrant menu brimming with flavour, made to complement each pour. Plus, cocktails from the bar mixed with the distillery’s signature spirits and house-made liqueurs.

FAST.FOOD.FANCY Express Edition

Normal Van is serving up a hit of nostalgia with FAST.FOOD.FANCY. Express Edition. Chefs Rob Webster and Blaze Young (Foxtrot Unicorn and Edward & Ida’s) are behind a roaming line-up of elevated throwback snacks, from bite-sized canapΓ©s to flame-kissed eats off the hibachi, plus a trifle trolley doing dessert the fun way. On the drinks front, expect funky retro cocktails and pours from Jess Waldron’s Jingalup Wines keeping things loose.

This event was the highlight of my 2025 festival, and the most decadent meal I’ve eaten. Take your stretchy pants, and don’t plan on eating the day after.

Lady Lola’s Greatest Hits

Five years in, and Lady Lola is serving up her greatest hits for one night only. You’ll get all the dishes and pours that have earned the Dunsborough local a cult following. Expect a line-up that leans into European bistro roots and seasonal South West fare where provenance matters.
