It’s time to get back to posting, as my backlog is only getting bigger. This time, it’s Chow’s Table – one of the best meals I had during my recent-ish trip down-south. If you’re not familiar with CT, it offers a modern twist on traditional Chinese / Malay cuisine.
There are some things you just don’t say no to, and one of those is when Mal Chow says “are you coming in for a feed?”. After a week of over-indulgence, and against my better judgement, it was an offer I couldn’t refuse.

I’ve eaten at Chow’s Table several times before – and attended both of Mal’s Long Chim collabs – and it’s always a memorable experience. This time was no different, and despite asking him not to go crazy, I was presented with the dishes listed below for my solo “lunch” (and a huge amount of leftovers).
If you have the opportunity to visit Chow’s Table, make sure you do. It’s one of the best restaurants anywhere in WA.
- Dishes shown here:
- Sweet potato ball with sambal
- Curry puff
- Wagyu beef skewers – ginger, garlic, soy, scallion
- Large pan fried dumpling – pork and chives, black vinegar chill
- Pork heart – black bean, fermented green chilli
- CT Fried rice – Chinese sausage, egg, bean shoots, shallot
- Malaysian chicken curry
- Mapo egg tofu – steamed egg, pork mince, Szechuan chilli sauce
- Chinese roast duck – Peking roast duck, star anise sauce
- Char siu pork – pork neck, sweet soy dressing
- Roti Canai
- Seasonal greens – kai lan, Brussels sprouts, beans, sugar snaps, oyster sauce
- Lychee pop – palate cleanser
- Fried Chinese donut – five spiced sugar, chocolate sauce
- Coconut sago – jackfruit, longan, mint syrup, coconut ice cream
The highlight? The deliciously spicy pork heart dish surprised me the most and the chicken curry was phenomenal, but it was all bloody good. There was just a lot of it!
