Here’s some Christmassy content from my recent Singapore trip, a delightful Paddington Bear-inspired high tea at SKAI restaurant in Swissôtel The Stamford.
The Paddington theming is consistent across the meal, from table decorations and drinks to the red London bus-Battenberg and a hazelnut praline suitcase. As you would expect, everything is family-friendly and several of the dishes arrive modified for younger guests. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was of excellent quality with plenty to feed everyone.

The Paddington high tea runs until 31 Jan 26, and is well-priced at $78 SGD per adult ($90 AUD) and $39 SGD ($45 AUD) per child for a two-hour seating. Free-flowing Champagne and house wine can be added. Bookings are essential; see here for more information.

Located on level 70 of the hotel, SKAI is Singapore’s highest restaurant. The panoramic city views make for some great photos and help to make this a memorable afternoon, as it was for us.
I’ve included the full menu in the gallery below (including choices of tea) but the dishes we had were:
- Cheese & Truffle Gougères
- Honey Baked Ham, Apple & Whole Grain Mustard Remoulade
- Hot Smoked Salmon Rillette, Caviar
- Crab Blini, Spicy Dressing, Yuzu
- Chicken Pie
- Warm Traditional Plain & Raisin Scones
- Seasonal Selection of Homemade Jam
- Devonshire Clotted Cream and Butter
- Raspberry Battenberg Sponge
- Royal Hazelnut Praline
- Clementine Marmalade Sandwich with Honey Brioche
- Paddington Fruity Macaron
- Lemon Tea Meringue Shortbread
- Citrus Basil Sorbet with Earl Grey Tea & Orange Pomelo Salsa
